Why Tuesday and Saturday?
Tuesday (Mangalvar) is traditionally associated with Hanuman Ji's birth and with Mangal (Mars) — devotees worship him for strength and courage. Saturday (Shanivar) is linked to the legend of Hanuman Ji freeing Shani Dev, so devotees pray to him for relief from Shani's difficult phases.
Puja Samagri (What You Need)
Step-by-Step Puja Vidhi
- Prepare. Bathe, wear clean (ideally red or orange) clothes and clean the puja space.
- Set up. Place Hanuman Ji's image on a red cloth, facing you as you sit towards east or north.
- Light the diya and agarbatti. Remember Shri Ram and Mata Sita first — Hanuman Ji is pleased by Ram bhakti.
- Offer sindoor mixed with a little chameli oil, red flowers and tulsi.
- Recite the Hanuman Chalisa — once, or 3, 7 or 11 times.
- Add Bajrang Baan or Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ashtak if you are facing a particular difficulty.
- Mantra Jaap. Chant "Om Hanumate Namah" or "Om Shri Hanumate Namah" 108 times on a mala.
- Aarti. Sing "Aarti Kije Hanuman Lala Ki" and offer prasad.
- Pray with folded hands, share prasad with family.

Things to Keep in Mind
- 🙏Devotion matters more than perfect rituals — a sincere one-time Chalisa is better than a rushed eleven.
- 🥗Many devotees keep the day sattvik — no non-veg, alcohol or onion-garlic.
- 🕯️Never leave a lit diya unattended.
- 📿Use a digital mala counter if you lose count during jaap.
